LOSBYLINNA

Losbylinna is the railway that went from Losby to Fjellhamar. The railway has been closed, but the route is used for tour purposes. Lørenskog municipality has upgraded it, so that it is a good hiking trail and light trail for skiing from Sørlihavna to Losby.

Lørenskog Rotary Club, together with Lørenskog West Rotary Club, has formed a joint project to put up signs along the hiking trail.

The signage is financed with own funds from both Rotary clubs.

DESIGN OF THE SIGNS

According to experience from Elveparken and Lørenskogstien, the construction is a buried post (60-70 cm below ground level) with a solid aluminum plate as bases. The information signs themselves consist of a print on aluminum that is attached with an aluminum frame. This has proven to be a good construction that will hopefully last for many years. The sign itself can be replaced if necessary.

Lørenskog municipality has been helpful in finding locations for the signs so that they do not stand in the way of snow removal, trail running and edge trimming. Some of the signs are therefore off the beaten track.

CONTENTS OF THE SIGNS

To assess what was relevant as information for the signs along Losbyllinna, some inspections were made. Historically, there has been a lot of activity during the time when the youth used the Losby River for swimming and ski slopes were built in many places in Lørenskog. In today's Lørenskog, much of this is gone.

We hope that the information provided is of interest to hikers and others.
